Cliff College offers a variety of Christian short courses, ranging from day and weekend courses to week-long courses and off-site training. These various opportunities are designed to train the whole people of God, and provide inspiration, retreat, reflection, new learning and personal development, as well as allow participants to explore other validated courses within the college.
Many of these short courses are delivered alongside our existing ministry partners.

Cliff College has been delivering innovative and inspiring degree programmes in mission and ministry for 20 years. We specialise in courses focused on youth, children, and family mission and ministry, approved by and leading to an award of The University of Manchester.

Course Structure
The Certificate of Higher Education (Level 4) in Mission and Ministry introduces students to foundational concepts in theology, mission and ministry; specific issues arising in mission and ministry to their chosen group (youth, children or families); and ideals and skills that are essential for mission and ministry.
To complete the year students must gain 120 credits by successfully completing a number of units, which are worth 10 or 20 credits each. The units focus on key aspects of the Christian ministry to youth, children and families.
The Diploma offers students who have successfully obtained their Certificate of Higher Education the opportunity to continue to study in more depth. Units are taught with all streams together in order for students to gain a better understanding of wider issues in mission and ministry to youth, children and families, but specialist learning and assessment remains a key part of the student experience.

The format is similar to the Certificate and the Diploma, but students will be offered the opportunity to explore their specialist ministry in more theological and missiological depth and will be required to complete a research dissertation.

On the MA Mission programme, there are multiple pathways taught at postgraduate certificate, diploma and degree levels.
With some of the foremost international experts in Christian mission and leadership, the MA Mission is designed to enable in-depth engagement with a variety of themes, including:

  • pioneering mission and church planting
  • responses to church decline in the west
  • missional movements and networks
  • the Holy Spirit in leadership
  • evangelism in a digital age
  • church history
  • biblical theology
  • global justice
  • missional spirituality
  • literature & culture.

The postgraduate degree is validated by The University of Manchester, one of the most prestigious universities in the world.
The MA Mission postgraduate degree programme is highly flexible and is normally studied full-time or part-time over one to three years. This means it is ideal both for those pursuing an academic vocation as well as for those currently involved in mission or ministry who need to juggle their studies with their church/mission commitments.

Programme Structure
To complete the MA, students must complete any four units from the programme, and then a dissertation in their final year. Students can also choose to take a pathway with a more specific focus or complete the course at a distance by taking the online units.
